Large swaths of San Antonio have poorly maintained homes and pot-holed streets/cracked sidewalks.
Lots of litter around as well. There has been a lot of improvement in the inner city recently though with the redevelopment of the River North area (Pearl Brewery)

I've never seen that myself and you're the first person I've seen raise that claim. Online or in the real wôrld.

Oddly, you don't even live in San Antonio.

San Antonio is bad as far as littering goes. A lot of this falls on the City of San Antonio and the Mayors office. Whatever happened to Highway clean up groups that would clean up certain sections then posted signs recognizing their organizations. Sometimes the city invests most of its time and effort to exclusive areas of the city leaving low income areas under developed and unmaintained. HOA's used to have neighborhoods cleaned up now they have become nothing more than collection agencies when dues are expected. One time classy neighborhoods are trashed out and rundown which been an ongoing trend as the city expands outward.

I lived in San Antonio for over 25 years and if we were Facebook friends I would show you photographic evidence but really why would you be so concerned anyway? Weird.

I guess since trapper keeper hasn't seen it, it doesn't exist.

Oh I can back up what Sapphire said....seen it many times. Walmart parking lots, left in shopping carts, side of the road. One that made me explode was down on the Nueces river at a popular swimming hole. Woman tossed a diaper in the river like it was nothing. I confrontd her about it and she said in broken English...."the water will carry it away". Trash everywhere once people left for the day....empty beer cans and bottles, 18 pack containers, tin foil from bbq'ing. even a broken plastic lawn chair. They don't care.

Am I the only one who disagrees with this? I never see litter on the highways here. In the poorer areas of town, yes there is litter and graffiti. But every large city has this issue. Downtown is clean, no graffiti.

So this is the first time you've seen this posted in your entire one month on the City Data Forum? Surprising. It's been mentioned on this forum many times. There will always be one or two people that will dispute that San Antonio has a problem with litter, grafitti and just a general lack of pride in many parts of the city. Then there will plenty more that will affirm the problems. So, next time this topic comes up in a month or so, you can proudly state that you have seen or heard about it...

I said online, not just city-data.

As for tagging, I agree, the city (especially inside 410) has a terrible tagging problem. If more people downloaded the San Antonio 311 app and began reporting it like I do, we can slowly fix it. You can also report other issues as well.

As for the liter issue . I agree with the poster above and think it's being way overblown. I hardly see liter and have never seen diapers left in parking lots.

So, that brings me to ask... why is my anecdotal evidence less valid than every one else's anecdotal evidence?

So I googled "San Antonio Diapers Parking Lot" to see what results I'd get. The only places that mention San Antonio having a problem with diapers being left in parking lots are a couple of city data threads (including this one) and a Texas college sports forum which has a thread from 2008 talking [in general] about diapers being left in parking lots and San Antonio is mentioned a couple of times (once in a joking/over the top/not serious way) but it seems so is every other city in Texas.

That was it. Two results. One being city-data and the other being a thread with a general discussion on the subject matter that implicates every city in Texas.
