The kids section is fantastic. I waltzed thru it. I thought they had a great selection. Beware, as they have a great selection of games and toys thru there too and it may cause a severe case of the "gimmies". Hit the coffee shop. Good, not as cozy as some I've seen in BAM, but still there is one!! The selection was good too.
Anyone know if that new Super Target will have a Starbucks inside? Usually they do, but this would be interesting competition if so.

That card thing gives you a coupon for 20% off board games and from what she told me, you can also get an additional 10% off with the card.

you can see the starbucks sign on the inside of the doors if you are traveling with Target to your right towards JCP. At least I'm pretty sure I saw it.
Of course right after I saw it, the article about closing 600 starbucks was out. Some of the reasons are competition between stores. Considering there are two starbucks withing what, 100 yards of each other, I can see how that happens.

This is all so very exciting!! Can't wait to try out all the new stores - no more fighting the 1604 traffic to get to Lowes...Target etc., but the biggest is the gas money savings!! I never would have believed that I would hate to drive just a few miles to go shopping! Every time I get in the car to go anywhere my brain just sees dollar bills flying out the window! I dread going to the gas pump .
Regarding more store openings - a couple months ago I went online and applied for a part time position at Ulta...they called last week and I'm going to help them get the store ready to open and may work part time afterwards. Anyway for all the "girls" in AR the news is that the Ulta is slated to open on August 24th. Will have full service salon etc., so you can get your hair done too!!
Question for all you BAM customers. Do you find that with your discount card you get prices as good as Amazon? I buy almost all my books online - even with the shipping costs it's seems cheaper than in-store. What do you think?

I saw that! My 10 year old loves family game night so I will take him soon and let him pick one out.

I do think the savings card is worth getting. Never really compared it to Amazon though. I know BAM has so many clearance books, and even library books (usually in big print) that they sell for $3. Of course I know Amazon has clearance too, but there's just something about perusing the book store I guess, for me. (no waiting for it to arrive either)
I am so glad we will have an Ulta near us. I miss that store. They always have great deals too.
And all of this will be open before the holiday shopping season!

the card was only $15 and the free coffee alone would pay that back soon enough. I don't usually get them, but I think I'll be visiting BAM pretty often. I love magazines and their selection was huge.

Just got back from BAM. Their book selection is definitely adequate, as are the board games, gift items, and magazines. The magazine section alone is amazing! My only problem with them, and it's thisclose to being a deal-breaker for me::::::where are the comfy chairs? They have a table and chair section in the Joe Muggs area (very small area, I might add--and no coffee aroma whatsoever, another letdown) but they are very industrial-looking chairs--not inviting at all. The chairs (and there were very few of them) for sitting and reading did not look comfortable at all--very square and the arms were not even padded. It totally kills the whole "event" for us--we do B&N and I guess we were hoping for that type of experience closer to home.
I did buy some books, got the discount card, and we tried some coffee. The coffee drinks are good, and the discount card will pay for itself shortly! I sooooo wanted it to be better than it was, but I'll still go there.

That's what I noticed about the coffee area too and I'm not sure why. The BAM we had in Georgia the coffee area was nice and cozy. This one has a great outside, but the inside is pretty simple.

BAM was a nice store. But did lack some room. Very small space crammed with books. The kids section was close quarters, but had a great selection of kids toys. Great place to grab a cute gift for the young ones in our lives
