Southton Ranch is a subdivision that is located just west off of 37S on the far south side of San Antonio and just north of Braunig Lake on Southton Raod which is a continuation of Donop Road. The area is not a well financed area and income of those living there will be lower than other areas. Doesn't make them bad folks, just not a wealthy area. The builder you are looking at must be KB Homes, not KD. KB is a builder that caters to folks looking for the absolute most house for the cheapest price. As such, they cut a lot of corners and while square footage is up, quality is low. An example, they list a 2 car garage but 2 F150s will not begin to fit, it must be subcompacts or 2 cars won't fit. They have a well deserved lousy reputation in this area. It's not a builder or an area I would recommend to anybody. You'll also find Fieldstone builds in the same subdivision. They are another builder that builds the absolute cheapest house possible with the first time home buyer as their target market. They charge extra for the likes of mouldings, lights on the ceiling, doors, etc, nothing is included. The houses will have a masonry front of some kind with painted cementious board on the rest of the home. Maintenance will be high. I'd suggest viewing some of their other subdivisions to see just how run down they are. In my opinion, and we all have one, this is a ready made ghetto waiting to happen.
