Hi There. Besides the big intersection at Huebner and Stone Oak, and of course Stone Oak at 1604, does anyone know of new commercial development inside the boundaries of Stone Oak.
Does anyone know what businesses besides a mexican restaurant will be at Stone Oak and Hardy Oak?
Is it true that a CVS is going in at Wilderness Oak and Hardy Oak? Will anything else be there?
What about the bottom of the hill at Stone Oak and Evans? I know of the bank but what else will be there?
Is it true a new HEB Central Market is coming? Where?
Thanks!!!

I would like to know also, as a resident.
I am praying that Trader Joes is coming toour neighborhood, along w/ Jamba juice would be nice. At least a whole foods for goodness sake.
I actaually asked someone at central market if they are coming our side of town, the best we get is the add on to the HEB on Blanco and 1604.
Would love to get info, from those in the know, to what is coming our way.
The Fitness together, on Blanco and 1604 is a great personal training gym, it has been open almost a yr now. I'ts nice to have that.
Max muscle is a great addition too.
Any one heard of "Koo Koo Roo"? it's a chicken place, I wish I had the means for a franchise, I think it would do well in Stone oak.
Can you tell I am into the healthy stuff

there is a mexican restaurant going in evans and stone oak. (i wonder if its the same one you are talking about ...) so i assume there will be a mini-shopping center.

There are no signs because stone oak regulation is to not have any signs up.

there was originally talks for a central market. Instead there will be an HEB plus, at evans and 281. the exact opposite corner from the current heb. Honestly, I much rather have a whole foods, or sun harvest around.

As to the Central Market - generally these are less profitable units - so much so that at times they operate at a loss. I don't know this from personal experience, but do know a couple of really good friends who were or are in management positions for HEB.

The HEB Plus stores allow HEB to cash in on the GM products and the mark up that is associated with selling these types of products. There is no wonder why HEB would want to build a profit producing mega store out this way instead of a profit reducer (over simplification for sure, but you get my drift).

I am not saying that I wouldn't like a CM out here, because I would LOVE one. It is just that I don't see HEB doing very many CMs because of their lack of profitability.

As for the hill at stone oak and evans. At one time there was a sign up saying a gas station was coming soon. They did some clearing for a few days - maybe even a few weeks. Then - everything stopped - sign gone - and no sign of gas. I would personally love for a gas station to be at the corner, but don't see how anyone would be allowed to do that given the current environmentalist challenges to anything over the aquifer (especially gas stations). I think it is almost cost prohibitive for gas stations to go in over the aquifer recharge zone now days - barring legal challenges from the environmentalists. So you throw those guys in = not worth the headaches.

Found out today that at Wilderness Oak and Stone Oak the CVS will actually be the anchor of a small shopping center, not a standalone store....anyone have any idea what else will be there? How about Wilderness at Blanco...anyone know what will be in THAT new strip mall?
