Default Neighborly (active) neighborhoods

Are there any neighborhoods around Shavano/NW Military or NW 1604/I-10 that y'all know to be very neighborly? I'm looking for a neighborhood that decorates for holidays, neighbors are outside, kids are playing together, an occasional bbq in the summer, etc.

Where I live now the neighborhood is terrible.

Thanks for your help!

One way to gauge activity in a neighborhood is by browsing the web site of its HOA or neighborhood association. The city maintains a database of these organizations at the link below.

I'm pretty tickled about my neighborhood and we got lots of folks decorating this year. Contests and everything.

Yeah, they are putting us to shame. We haven't gotten one light strung up yet.

Don't feel bad... Technically we have started - the lights are out of the attic and sitting in a box in the garage. But little to no chance of them going up this weekend. Maybe next.

Or maybe I can just put some red and green light bulbs in my porch light fixtures.
