Default Few Questions About San Antonio

Hello.
I have a couple of questions ... Firstly, I was wondering if there are any Dutch Colonial style houses located here in San Antonio.

My second question is this...
There is a large wooded area across the street from Ingram Park mall and next to some apartments off the road Timberhill.. It's used as a dumping ground(which it shouldnt be)... Alot of trucks land up getting stuck in the mud out there as well...
Anyways...

There is some sort of building ruins hidden there in the woods and I was curious if anyone knows what used to be out there. I asked some Park Police who were patroling the area what it was and they said they thought it may once of been a truck
stop where they loaded trucks with gravel or something...

What is left is large pieces of foundation... concrete stairs which lead to the lower part where there is a larger building which appears to have been the place where trucks would pull underneith...

Does anyone have any information what this place was? A history on it? It'd be appreciated greatly...

Thank You

There was a beautiful Dutch Coloial on North New Braunfels Ave., just north of Hildebrand. It was sold and torn down. Now something else is being built on the property. Dutch colonial is not a popular type house here becasue fo the heat and lack of air circulation and heat build up. There are a few I've seen, but I don;t think there are many left. Alamo Heights is probably the area to look for one.

TORE IT DOWN?! that's sad. I guess the heat issue does make sense....
Most of those type of style houses are built in the New England/East Coast areas where there are cooler temps... Appreciate it... Still wanna find out what those ruins are.

kenshin522,
You may want to ask this question on the Gone But Not Forgotten thread. The people posting there have an immense amount of knowledge and memories on things that used to be in SA, but are no longer there or in ruin. A lot of posters there grew up in the Ingram area and someone has to remember what that building was.
