Looks like coaches and maybe even players will be miked during games again...

Halftime will be a period of voyeurism as well:::::

I say, what a shame, but predict the SPURS, PopsGuys, will still prevail and continue to keek arse....
To me, Gregg Popovich seems like the LEAST media-conscious sports figure ever!!!! and most of his players seem the same....
Pop keeps on going as he would WITHOUT the cameras, so I'm suspecting the mikes won't bother him too much.....

David Stern says there 'is no discussion', it's a done deal....

I think it borders on illegal, personally.... I think it's a smarmy bit of sabotage..........

FROM THE ARTICLE:
"Mark Cuban thinks the concept is "great," and he would. Cuban dances with the stars, and he'd dance in his underwear if it meant more attention.

Maybe that's why Avery Johnson is less rebellious than he is resigned to the idea. His boss believes.

.........

[Gregg Popovich]: "I'm not in NCAA Division III anymore," Popovich said then. "So it's pretty hard to stand on philosophical grounds and be a purist."

Now, with his standing in the league more secure, he's a purist again. He said Wednesday he thinks the new policy is "very invasive."

He's never been fond of invasive. The Spurs have operated in a controlled environment, and now there will be cameras at halftime — when even staff knows better than to intrude.

This is another stupid idea from the NBA. This will last about as long as that new ball did.

Well, here's what the article says they're trying to do, but I think it's bull****

"NT and ESPN will try to sell more. Beginning tonight, coincidentally with another Mavericks game, there will be all-access voyeurism.

"We hope to capture the raw emotions on the floor and give fans a closer look at NBA personalities," a TV executive told USA Today
.

The NBA put microphones on coaches and players during the game and are using the audio from those microphones as part of the TV coverage of the game.

All of this is just an attempt to make early-season games more appealing to TV viewers.

Is this not some type of invasion of privacy?

Do the players get to put in their 2 cents on this decision?

If they do this then the sissy censors have to be prepared to hit that bleeper many many times. This means all live NBA games will have to be on a few seconds delay.

I mean bad language is the norm and it is well spoken on the court and huddles. I wonder how many new jobs this will create. I mean it will take a lot of censors to weed out all that chatter that the public will never get to hear.

Shame on David Stern.
