Default Movie theater coming to 281 and Marshall

MYSA Article (http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/metro/stories/MYSA120707.01A.MARSHALLROAD.2de1f33.html - broken link)

Quote:
Though the council stopped the contentious proposal, it OK'd two other rezoning requests Thursday in the immediate area: 23 acres for a movie theater at the southeastern corner of U.S. 281 and Marshall Road and nearly 70 acres for a hospital at U.S. 281 and Sonterra Boulevard.

Cool......I thought that one was approved at Stone Oak and 281 but one at Marshall is just as good.

So a paved lot for a park-and-ride at that intersection is an unacceptable hazard to the aquifer, but a 23-acre parking lot for a movie theater is not?

I believe it had to do with that specific area which is why it was so environmentally sensitive.

Well the city has to side with the enviromentalists every now and then or else there would be tons of lawsuits. Oh wait... there are already tons of lawsuits. I really think some of these groups intend on returning San Antonio to the 1830s.

Tacara - Life Inspired

Am I wrong in assuming that this has been approved??? In the article it mentions Tacara and speaks of the continuation of Marshall across 281.

Is Tacara has been approved. Completion of the southern portion (retail and commercial) is slated for fall of 2009. The northern portion (residential/manilla) will be built when Marshall is extended to Stone Oak. Hopefully that happens soon.

Do you know if the residential portion will be SFH or more "loft style" condos?? We will be doing some serious downsizing, from almost 4000 sq ft to a lot smaller, in 2010 and that would be an great location since we are already in the area.
