Lorenzo's ---- a small Italian restaurant located on Fred. Rd. @ Medical Dr. Everything I've ever eaten there was well-prepared, well-served, very tasty, and affordable.

Their Oysters Lorenzo are especially awesome. Yummmmmm.

I used to work near the Medical Center a few years ago. Every Thursday we would go to Lorenzo's because that was when they feature their Chicken Lorenzo for lunch.

How about Picolo's Italian restaurant on Evers and Wurzbach?

It's been around forever. The have a great signature dish there called Pasta Picolo. The place is equally famous for the owner's wife. She is a very stern, unwelcoming, german-like woman. Her unfriendly manner is actually part of the charm for the regulars. I hadn't eaten there in years due to changing employers and leaving the medical center to work in Stone Oak. Even though I used to be a regular there and hadn't been around for a couple years, she still clearly recognized me. When I sat down and ordered (realizing I had ordered the wrong thing, the Pasta Picolo is not on the lunch menu, you have to ask for it) I tried to change my order not even 2 minutes after placing it. When I asked about changing it as she passed by our table, she didn't even miss a step or look at me, just said with a barely veiled contempt "NO!".

Right now I'd say it's the Taqueria Jalisco off of S. Zarzamora or that fish place on the same road... Damn cant remember the name of it... But they had a big fish platter for under 6 dollars with BIG pieces of fillet. THey do good business so you know the food is fresh.

If you are looking for a good burger, try Longhorn Cafe on Blanco Rd. They proudly claim to be home of the "Big Juicy." I think there is one on I10, and also one on S.E. Military Drive

I definitely love Blanco Cafe on Blanco & Oblate (close to North Star Mall).
Their mexican food reminds me of my mother's homemade tortillas and food and that is NOT an easy feat.
I also love Armadillos on McCullough. They've got some excellent burgers.

I''ve written down all the restaurants that were mentioned so far so if I ever run across them I'll stop by and visit them.

I didn't know about the one on SE Military. The one on I-10 is near Boerne Stage Road.

Default Aladdin's Eatery

This place is a quiet, hip, healthy place to eat; first one in Texas just opened in Stone Oak. It's big out east, can't believe there's one here!!

Food includes a lot of fresh minced tomatoes, olive oil, grilled chicken and lamb, and great, healthy appetizers like Tabouli and Hummus. It's pretty cheap too.

Make sure and try it out (it's just off of Stone Oak Pkwy). I want to make sure the place stays strong because we love it so much!
