Does anyone know what is going in on the corner of Kyle Seale and 1604, on the outside of the loop? They've started clearing out a lot of land on the corner as turn right to head up Kyle Seale. I had heard rumors long ago that HEB was thinking about adding another store in this area, but it seems pretty close to the HEB Plus on 1604 and Bandera. But I would really love it if they did!

I can't confirm anything there yet. I believe the property is still in the hands of the Kyle Seale family and they may be clearing and grubbing the site (leaving the oaks) in an effort to dress it up and make it more attractive for sale. We'll have to see what develops. It is a primo piece of land.

There was a site plan that was published 6 or 7 years ago that included a HEB and Home Depot or Lowes along with other retailers and restaurant pads. Then the housing market slowed, retail construction stopped and eventually HEB built their mega store at 1604 and Bandera. I'm not aware of the current status, but clearly there will be a retail development at some point. Some of the land could go to apartment development as well.

That is Bexar County property 562478. From the Bexar County Appraisal District:

Owner Name = SEALE KYLE H
Mailing Address: FMLY PROPERTIES LTD, PO BOX 1200, HELOTES, TX 78023-1200

No phone # available on Bexar County website, but I'm sure you can use other mechanisms to figure it out!
