Update: i had an interview and immediately got the job. However, a change of plans took us to Dallas where I accepted a position there. It did not take years to find a position. It took me weeks and I had my choice of schools to pick

That's awesome. Congratulations on the move to Dallas. It is a nice a rea as well. Many of us have had the experience of waiting years for school positions. But of course, it doesn't mean something like what happened to you won't happen.

Congrats on the new job. My mom is an elementary teacher near Dallas now and she got her job pretty quick also. She also gets paid a lot more up there than she did down here. The only negative is that she is no longer teaching special education which was her job for many years while teaching near San Antonio. She said the job market for that particular position was pretty competitive in the DFW area.

Thanks, yes the Dallas area pays more. In Comal isd my salary would have been about 9k less. However the cost of living in Dallas is higher... so its a trade off. We're excited for a new beginning.
