can anyone tell me if SAWS and CPS and whatever else require deposits to start service.

In Dallas, where we are now, I was able to have a letter faxed over to the utility companies stating we had good standing and the deposits were waived.

I am just trying to figure in all my costs for moving.

Thanks.

prose,

Welcome to San Antonio! All of the major utility companies allow you to fax a letter in order to get the fees waived.

Just request a letter from your current provider stating you are in good standing with them and SAWS and CPS will waive the deposit.

Just be expicit what you need from your current provider. CPS did not like the 'format' of what my utility provider sent them, and would not accept it.

My family and I have just recently moved here to Converse Tx. We are staying with my Aunt until we find a place. I've done some research and found a place closer to work. It is an apartment complex. I just wanted to know if the electricity in San Antonio requires a deposit? Any information would be very helpful! Thank you

Yes. $100. Through CPS you will get that back after the first year.
