Default North Eastside Question.

I was on my weekly trek to Seguin to visit some family and i noticed a lot of clear ground off of 1604 north of I10 in Converse. The area is in Martinez State Park. Its where 1604 goes to a narrow one lane in each direction road over those ponds or lakes. I noticed that they also seemed to be draining the ponds also. Does anyone have any information???

I'm not sure about draining the ponds around that area, but living in that area I do know that TXDOT plans to expand 1604 to 4 lanes and most of the cleared area is being used by homebuilders to put in more housing. If it's anything like what happened to the ponds in front of Meadow Brook, the developers just want more land to put more housing on. Here's hoping I'm wrong on this!
