Looking for an apartment near lackland. I currently live in the stablewood housing area with roommates. It's not a bad area just trying to find my own place with my boyfriend and two dogs. I would prefer a townhouse but haven't been able to find anything I like. My budget isn't very much but we are looking for a 1 bedroom under 750 and a 2 bedroom under 1000. Anyone have any reccomendations? 1604 and bandera is really the furthest I would like to go. Thank you for your help in advance.

There are some places in the Ingram/Culebra area that may fit your preferences. I don't have any particular complexes to recommend, but search with 78251, 78245 and 78238. Those should keep you west of Bandera. The Bandera area is 78240 and may be okay as well for your commute.

There's a complex of townhomes on marbach between Ellison and Hunt, next to Uncle Bob's storage. I don't remember the name of the complex but I always notice it when I ride my bike because its painted in different pastel shades.

Have you looked at apartments at Culebra OUTSIDE of 1604? There are some brand new apartments right beyond the McDonalds and then further on Culebra, prior to the High School, there is a whole new apartment complex nearly constructed and slated to open soon.

I've been looking around and am really interested in either The Mansions at Briggs Ranch or Stablewood Farms. Anyone have any reviews on these??? Thanks in advance.

When I was a Resident Service Coordinator I visited Stablewood Farms for a staff meeting. We spent some time in one of the model units. It was very nice, but I'm not 100% sure if this is or isn't a tax credit property which would mean you have to make under a certain amount of money to live there. If it isn't then it's a pretty nice apartment complex for that area.

Briggs Ranch is an area I have also looked at (as a rental option) and think it looks pretty nice. It's in an up and coming area of the city (although still out).

They are two completely different types of areas and it really depends on what type of area you want to be in, somewhere more established with Stablewood Farms or somewhere new like Briggs Ranch.
