If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay at amazon? I've seen them on there but they are a lot more expensive than retail price.
Thanks~

I paid list price, $249, plus about $8 shipping. I could have gone with free shipping, but I wanted to be sure it arrived before spring break.

It arrived yesterday, but I think I ordered it on Wednesday or Thursday of last week, when there was a 10-minute window of availability.

If you're(or anybody) still looking for Wii, check out Wal-mart's recent ad.

Wii Console $249.24 (Quantities limited)
The sale dates are March 16 - March 22, 2008.

Yeah, same thing going on in Florida. I am sure there will be hundreds of people there fighting over the 2-3 Wii consoles they get in...

Cheers! M2

Well, I didn't bother to go out at midnight and fight the crowds; but my Mom in Florida did and she scored a Wii for her grandkids! She and a friend went to one WalMart and were eleventh and twelfth in line but there were only 10 consoles to be had. Her friend went home but Mom decided to try another WalMart and there was one remaining! The sales guy said they had nine with only five people waiting, three others went in the mean time and Mom got the last one! She is handcarrying it when she flies out later this Spring; she doesn't want to mail it.

So, the moral of the story is that they can be found. Now my wife is hammering on me for not going out to our WalMart to try and get one last night; but I am not a big fan of that place, especially when there is something like this going on...

Cheers! M2

it was available online at Toy-R-Us for a few days, BUT you had to buy it as a package with five games, so the price ended up being around $500.. they were good games though. I still am glad I paid the extra $50 and got mine over a year ago on craigslist. Although I never imagined it would still be nearly impossible to find almost 18 months after it was introduced..

I just saw an ad for the Wii Fit that is supposed to come out next month: Upcoming Releases - Fit W/balance Board (http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewproduct.htm?productId=42267495 - broken link)
However, when I Googled it, there seems to be a HUGE fluctuation in prices. Anywhere from the $78.99 there all the way up to $349.99.. The vast majority of the prices were $100+ and I was wondering if anyone knew the actual price it is supposed to be selling for. I know this is going to be huge and I definitely want one.

I have heard that Gamestop stores are taking preorders for Wii Fit @ 89.99, which will be the US retail price.

I want one, too. I thought I'd wait and see if I could get one at Target or Wal-Mart before resorting to a pre-order.

I found one in Tyler, TX a couple of days after Christmas when I was visiting family over there. Glad I grabbed it - I have yet to have seen one for sale around Seattle and it's great for those rainy days when I don't want to go out. If anyone is traveling with one, I put it in my checked luggage and it made it here just fine.

Thanks for the info Bowie, so I guess $77.99 would be a good deal. The thing I like best about the Wii Fit is it will keep track of your daily progress with a built in scale.. that's also the thing I like least about it
I'm looking forward to skiing with it. I wonder why it took someone so long to figure out this would be a really, REALLY good idea for a game controller..
