I consider the whole area on the north side between 281 and IH-10 to be the north central side. If you cut it off at NW Military, there would practically be no north central side because the area east of 281 is the NE side.
This is just about perception. If you go by google maps, the NW Side does not begin until you are west of I10, and the NE Side begins east of I35. Tomato, tomata...Nonetheless, I am not surprised that there has been an increase of violent suburban crime in SA. This is happening all across the country.

Why would the NE side start much farther east than the NW side starts west? IH-35 is about as east as Hwy 16 is west. The labels on that Google map don't seem to be commonly known to native San Antonians.

Sorry. I added to my post late. But according to Google, the area east of 281 is not NE or north central; it's Uptown. I really don't think that's the general perception held by locals.

I'd be happy to buy you a map and a compass, and teach you
How to use them, but west of NORTHWEST military is clearly the start of the northwest side. BTW you are always welcome to disengage at anytime

Nah bro it isn't, if you have to get there from Downtown by IH-10 then it's NW. Sorry I can buy you a compass too. We can have remedial geography classes

Yep. 4000 block of 1604 "looks like" north central but that depends you ask I suppose.
