I-35 and Walters Street Improvements

Details:

• The Walters Street overpass bridge on I-35 will be widened and improved. Improvements include an aesthetically appealing design, added main lanes as well as the installation of turnaround lanes.
• Walters Street from Runnels Ave. to the Fort Sam Houston entrance gate will be realigned, widened and improved. Four lanes will be added as well as pedestrian corridors on each side and bike lanes.
• I-35 will have its entrance and exist ramps reconfigured; a turnaround will also be added at at&t Parkway.
• Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2008.

This was one of the bridges that was identified as a bridge likely to collapse after the big Mishap up in North. Looks very appealing.. Sure is a lot better then what is there now.
