There's some kind of construction work going on. Google Maps & Waze are showing heavy traffic. Anyone know what it is? Is it just repaving work or is it something more substantial? Anyone know how long it's going to last? Just trying to gauge any rush hour problems in the morning.

That article appears to be focused solely on Redland Road while the construction tonight is only on 281-S between Evans (although the backup begins long before the intersection) and Redland.

I think it is just resurfacing. I was hoping it was the beginning of the northern connectors off 1604. Wrong. I had been told they would start in September but was told today it would be sometime after the first of the year. Still waiting on clearance.

Resurfacing 281? Isn't that a bit like polishing the brass on the titanic?

Yeah why are they resurfacing when they are gonna tear it all up next year. Was hoping it was part of the northern connectors project too.

Just drove by a couple of hours ago & it was just resurfacing on 2 of the mainlanes, it looked like. I wish they would resurface that horrifying bump in the right lane just before you exit for Sonterra/1604. I LOATHE that bump, it's so jarring in all our cars. I can only imagine what it's like for trucks & SUVs.
