HEB 1604/Blanco
Has anyone been to this remodeled HEB at 1604 and Blanco? I heard at a party last night it was just like CENTRAL MARKET. True?

No it is not. It is an HEB Plus - it has some elements of Central Market - but has other items like housewares and furniture like a Super Target/Super WalMart. It is significantly larger than Central Market.
A similar HEB Plus is being built on the west side of 281 North at Evans Road.
HEB has specifically branded the Central Market and HEB Plus as different types of stores.

Banker, the Blanco/1604 HEB is was remodeled as a HEB Plus! and Central hybrid.e The one at Stone Ridge Market (281/Evans) will be just an HEB Plus! not the hybrid format.

The Blanco/1604 HEB is branded an HEB Plus. Yes - it does have some Central Market features - but is branded and marketed as an HEB PLUS. At this point we know nothing definite about the HEB Plus to be located at Evans/281. Given the high end residential areas out there - I suspect it will also have Central Market features - but will (like the Blanco/1604 HEB) be branded an HEB Plus.

Banker, your posts are well intentioned, no doubt about it but they're also misinformed. The HEB at Blanco is a hybrid concept (I know many a HEB executives) while the HEB at Evans will simply be an HEB Plus! concept.

The sign isn't indicative of the concept inside the store. The HEB at the Alon Town Center will be a hybrid of HEB (regular store) and Central Market. Guess what the sign will say? Just HEB. There are no hybrid signs for these particular stores.
