Default Please tell me about living Schertz

Hi
Can anyone give me any experience living in Schertz. I currently live in Bexar county between Windcrest and Converse. I've been having a hard time finding a new house in my area that I like so I'm considering Schertz. I only have about 130K to spend. Anything good or bad about Schertz? Has anyone moved from Bexar county to Guadelupe county or vice versa- can you tell me the differences? Are the property taxes lower than Bexar?

Thanks

hamjeepr is on a distinguished road
I live in Northcliffe and purchased a 1711 sq ft home for 130k 2 years ago. Overall, my property taxes are around $2k with the homestead exemption. Schertz takes care of its residents and it is a nice place to live. I haven't heard of any real crime issues in any part of the city. The parks are being enhanced/upgraded this next year. The community park in Northcliffe just received new playground equipment, a new basketball court, a walking track and has a pool that costs very little to use during the summer. It is also very easy to get around since we are just off 35 and easy access to 78. I'm not sure of the other areas of Schertz, but Northcliffe and Scenic Hills have new homes being built in your price range as well as older homes that will give you a larger yard. My understanding is we have lower insurance rates as well as property taxes when compared to Bexar. Good luck!
