Well i was like many on this forum that was (or were) very disappointed that they redesigned the new Hyatt. But i i gotta say i am liking it more and more. I recently was driving up 37 and glanced at is while i was already barely passed it. I gotta say i really like it. It was sunset and man i was amazed how a different angle change the way i view this monster.

Really when you do really look at it, it is a nice looking building. The really different looking thing about it, is that it is very shallow but wide and tall. That's a pretty sleek look for a tall building.
Look at these pictures and you can tell it's going to be beautiful inside.

I'm thinking of staying there myself when it opens even though I live here. The rooms look comfortable.

I like how state-of-the-art and new age the hotel will be. 32" LCD flat-panel HDTVs in every room.

When you do research you find that Hyatt is really "upping" it's image. Compared to 10 years ago, Hyatt looks very modern but comfortable. Those new Hyatt Place hotels are awesome. I guess since it's a Hyatt it's going to be nice.

I agree the view from 37 is kinda nice. Its enourmous even though its not that tall.

I worked for Hyatt for the past three years before changing companies just recently, and I have met with the executives of that property, and the renderings of what the lobby will look like are awesome. Very vibrant colors, very contemporary. Modern Luxury is the way to describe Hyatt's views on its hotel designs. Even the existing Hyatt properties are being renovated to fit this new industry standard.

I have also heard that their restaurant, named Achiote Restaurant and Bar, will be very "dramatic" in its design...whatever that means...

I wonder if the 21st floor of the Grand Hyatt San Antonio will be haunted?

I'd like to hear this story regarding the 21st floor of the Hyatt.
I am not much into the Haunted SA scene and stories as I would like, I hear about the Gunther and Menger being haunted by don't know the details, is this a reference to one of those (I didn't think they had 21 stories!). As a local, I should know more about this stuff, but I never really believed in ghosts. My wife, on the other hand, is a true believer and will not stay in a place she knows to be haunted. I hang out occasionally at the Havana Club downtown, which everyone says is haunted, but I have never seen anything.

Of course, as a local I am more familiar with Midget Mansion, the Donkey Lady, and the Fat Farm, but those are more nostalgic memories for me.

I did spend a week at the Grand Hyatt San Diego last spring. It was really, really nice.
