Hey everyone,

I heard from a neighboor of ours that there are plans in the works for the city to start construction of Section 8 apartments off of FM 1560.
Fiesta Farms has sold their land (to the city I'm assuming) and the plan is to turn that area of land into Section 8 apartments.

I was wondering if anyone else had heard of this???
I know that plans for section 8 housing in Alamo Ranch was shot down because enough people
petitioned....I didn't know if this was the city's way of a 2nd attempt to get section 8 in this area?

Just wanted to see if someone else has heard of this??

I'd be curious to know this as well. I do know that construction has started on sec 8 apartments at Military/Hwy 151. Also did not know this could've been prevented by petition, if true...

I agree with this, but not the sarcastic component...

The NIMBY folks are happy as long section 8 is anywhere but by them.

Yeah, 'cause all those people living around Woodstone Dr. have done a great job of blending in and keeping up that area...

Live in a very quiet residential tree lined road and you find out that they're going to build apartments next door. Of course everyone should rejoice!

You should have known more apartments will go up in the area (Section 8 or Not). It is pretty common in San Antonio for apartments after apartments to go up.

Look at plans for the area before you choose to buy there.

I have never felt unsafe driving down Woodstone. It's not the prettiest place but it's not an area I would avoid.
