Heck.. Look at Florida, 3 NFL Teams and no TV market.
75% of Floridians are over 70 and are asleep well before the game goes off....

Call me jaded but I see this as just another sports team using San Antonio to extort money from their local city govts for newer facilities....

It probably (read: definitely) is but the main point is that San Antonio is NOT too small for an NFL team.

36th largest TV Market, so even if the NFL limited itself to just 1 team in each of the largest markets, I don't see that it has enough teams to get to San Antonio.

TV markets are not accurate and are subjectively ranked by Nielsen. I just looked up the "NFL TV market for the Dallas Cowboys" and it includes, not only Fort Worth, but also Waco, Temple, Bryan, and Sherman-Ada. Well if Dallas's team can arbitrarily include Waco which is about 90 miles away from D-FW then San Antonio's market should include San Marcos and Austin! If that was "allowed" then our TV market would be larger than about half of the current NFL teams!

I here the same smallest of smallest stories about why SAN ANTONIO cannot do this do that. If for some reason SAN ANTONIO brings in the RAIDERS franchise to the ALAMO city and adds the ingredients of PETER HOLT winning PEDIGREE and class team concept with RED MCCOMBS. Here in SAN ANTONIO texas we cannot support franchises with glitz and glamor and be over rated at 3 billion dollars.

Glitz and Glamor plus 3 billion dollars will never equal to wins. SAN ANTONIO SPURS equal to WINS.

It's not subjective at all. TV markets are scientifically determined, based on the range of the TV station signals in the market and scientific surveys measuring which market's stations most viewers in a county watch.
