The City of San Antonio as of had an estimated population of April 2013 stood at 1,409,019.

The San Antonio Metropolitan area has an estimated population of 2,350,000 as of April 2014.

Metro population. It's standard usage as that's the more important figure when discussing population.

there are very little IT jobs here that are't already staffed by people with decades more experience than you, myself included. good luck though, if you want an IT job you will start at the bottom in SA, not at the top, and likely for half the pay or less.

How do you know you have more experience than the OP or even how much experience OP has?

Just stop rambling. Most of the time in IT you will start at the bottom no matter where you live. You don't typically hear about professionals right out of college landing Senior Network Architect positions or Senior Java programming jobs. IT is a relatively new field, how many people actually have decades of experience? You stated that like that's normal.

Wrong and wrong. Anecdotal experience does not necessarily represent the norm. Let's just say your and my experience with IT careers in SA are very different.

That is great to hear, OP. I've been thinking of locating there too next summer from NC. I plan to come and visit next spring to see if it would be a fit for my family and me. Have family in Dallas, but I am afraid it will be too pricy and congested there. It's great to read posts like these.
