And people wonder why I distrust law enforcement.
Waze? Thanks. I'll try it out.

Thank you all so much for the helpful info!

Deep Forest - do you know if that kiosk works with Bexar County (not SAPD)?

The ticket says you can go online and pay the fine and then take defensive driving to keep it off your driving record. You don't need to go to court for anything. Were you looking at the ticket as closely as you were looking at your speedometer?

Trust is earned and majority of cops do a poor job of earning trust.

Get a radar detector, seriously, they're NOT just for "speeders". I've been successfully using them to avoid "feeding the money pig" for 13 years.

No. City only. If you're going to a JP Court read this:

Bexar County Justices of the Peace

I think of them as "insurance" against the occasional and unintentional speeding incident.

Interesting. I'll call them to inquire about taking the defensive driving and for instructions to pay the fine before the court date. So this is pleading guilty or no contest. How does this differ from pleading Deferred Adjudication? Does Deferred Adjudication just mean that I don't have to take the Defensive Driving? I also wonder if the fees are different?

When I was young, I did own a radar detector. I gave it away after I got a ticket while using it. But that was when I was young and used to speed... on purpose!
