Good money or nah? How is the housing market? What price range should one expect for housing as well?

Quite good. Given the average income is somewhere in the $30s, yeah, not bad at all.

What kind of housing do you want? The range is all over the place.

The median income in San Antonio is just over $50k. Sorry, I like to use medians instead of means (averages) because means can be skewed by extremes. Either way, you will have more than enough money. I've heard general rules of thumb that say you shouldn't buy a house that is more than 2.5 to 5 times your income. It varies by your individual situation and how much money you have to put down, but you could probably afford a house that is around $210k. The median price for a single-family home in San Antonio was $184,200 in 2013 according to San Antonio EDF.

Where were you getting yours? BTW thanks for the info. Was just pricing around.

Also I ask about the salary range due to my career and competitiveness in my industry.

That money for single is more than enough in SA.
In nice area like Alamo or Stone Oak (these two I find best place in San Antonio to live again it is subjective) your rental may start from 750 to 1100 for a good one bedroom apartment.
Housing cost may vary from 175K an upwards.
You can get much lower than the price I mentioned in east part of city

Forbes says that the median household income is $50,075, and the median home price is $169,600.

This article says the median income for Bexar County in 2014 was $49,221.
Income is S.A.'s great divider - San Antonio Express-News

The U.S. Census Bureau says it was $42,613 in SA in 2011.

Housing | San Antonio EDF

San Antonio EDF says the average income was $61,635 in 2011; but, that is more than likely skewed by the millionaires that live here.

Start looking in and around downtown. My brother just bought a loft downtown in my building and that property never hit the market and had multiple offers. Lots of "loft" style apartments being built, very few available for purchase.

I agree. Start looking around Southtown, the Pearl, Tobin Hill or Alamo Heights. Bottom line, your income will buy you a lot here, especially if you are able to put a decent amount down. As an aside, I think we're having a miscommunication regarding the income figures. Ther eis a big difference between median HOUSEHOLD income and median INCOME income. Not all adults in San Antonio live alone.

CD uses older numbers. They don't update their numbers much.
