Kudos Jules!-- I read this thread with the intent to find a "kid friendly" place to eat with the family. Not read the constant negative comments by munerider ....MOVE ON!

Oh, and here I was trying to be funny, but I forgot there is an age cut off!

Though I could not remember the ages of your kids.

And our two girls are just about grown out of kid's meals.

We were debating last night about when we go to Texas Roadhouse of getting a full rack of ribs they can split.

And then we could have leftovers.

Texas Roadhouse does not have a play place, but a great kid friendly menu and a great atmosphere for families.

It does get a bit loud, but that is because of all of the great conversations going on.

And Paka and I can vouch for the ribeye and Sapphire had a little tidbit of the ribs.

But, that is another thread.

I raved about Mamacitas in another thread, but our girls really enjoy the atmosphere in there with the stars on the ceiling and the occasional shooting stars.

Sheesh, munerider. Here's a pop quiz:

Restaurant A: Candlelight, soft jazz or classical music, fine white linens, china and crystal, $30 entrees of small portions and exotic ingredients, very long wait for service.

Restaurant B: Festive atmosphere, loud music, crayons and coloring books, kids eat free, fast service, play area in or next to restaurant.

Where do you think the two year olds are going to be happier? THAT's what is meant by "kid friendly." It isn't code for "bad parenting."

"Candlelight, soft jazz or classical music, fine white linens, china and crystal, $30 entrees of small portions and exotic ingredients"--actually sounds kind of cool.

Have you ever been to a restaurant where they change the linen's on your table from white to black if you and your date are wearing dark colors, to avoid the lint?

GWhopper, not yet, but that sounds like an awesome dining experience if the customer service is that good across all the other areas of the restaurant, too! Are there any Texas restaurants that do that?

I have but I can't remember which restaurant it was. Honestly, seemed a bit silly to me. I've been to many high-end restaurants around the world (hubby and I are both foodies), and i've only had this happen once, I am pretty sure it was in SA. I just didn't see the point.
