Would seem like an odd place to build budget housing.
But then again when the government is spending other people’s money cost efficiency is not something the worry about.
Right across the street on 281 there is a very desirable piece of property. You’d think that a company that knows how to turn a profit would have spent millions for it. Nope. The local government used taxpayer money and bought it to build a high school.
What’s a couple million of somebody else’s money?

Investing in the future of our children is a good investment. I think it was you that said you had a felonious past in another thread. Maybe if we invest in education they won't follow in your footsteps.

I just can't figure how anyone who can afford "luxury" would want to live in San Antonio. It's not exactly known for being wealthy at all. I can think of millions of better places to live if I wanted "luxury." It's like putting lipstick on a pig.

Having a bad day? My job would allow me to live anywhere, but I chose to live here because 1) my dollar buys way more luxury here than in California, 2) my family all live within an hour of here, 3) I have access to the military medical care I earned as a retired member of the military and 4) for all its faults, the positives win.

A million places to live if you wanted luxury? I get that you are exaggerating a bit, but I've had the privilege to travel the globe (30 countries and counting) and I think you really have no idea how fortunate you are to live in a city like San Antonio. Wealth, luxury...all are relative.
