I bought my medallion home in November and while I like the home, the warranty service has some problems. I had an issue with a leaking water pipe (they nailed through the pipe when they put the roof on) Trying to get in touch with the warranty people is an exercise in frustration - you cannot call them , all you can do is leave a message and hope they call you back. If you miss the call back, then it's the same process -- call, leave a message, wait for a call back. it usually takes at least a day to get a call back. So I have now spent 2 weeks in the house with a shower that I cannot use.

We built a Medallion home and lived in it for 7 years and LOVED IT! THe only reason we aren't building Medallion again is because we want a real custom home. We had no problems at all and after 7 years and two kids later it still looked new and sold after 2 weeks on the market!

Dominique you should tell the operator when you call that you are not getting the response you need from your warranty rep and you need to talk to someone else. I had some problems with windows and the window company had told my rep that they had talked to me and the issue had been solved (they hadn't talked to me and the issue was not solved) so the Medallion rep did not know that I was not happy and still had a problem. Once I insisted on speaking with someone all kinds of stuff started to happen and managers from everywhere were calling to apologize. Sometimes you just need to get up and yell to be heard, such is life.

"The squeaky wheel gets the grease".
Great advice, MichelleSG.

And don't forget to take photos, just in case you need a little leverage getting things done.

Default Medallion warranty

I bought a Medallion home in January of 2008 and while the sales process was great the warranty department is horrible. Shingles flew off my roof and it was so hard to get someone to respond. When I spoke to some people finally it seemed like they werent concerned. Then I found out my neighbhor had seen the shingles come off and had told a warrranty manager but they failed to inforrm me. Because of where the shingles were coming of from and the direction I come into my house I never noticed. A contractor who was building a patio for me had to tell me. When they did come out to fix it the incompetents left a shingle that was still attached to my roof hanging off. The builder told me in April that there was a possible recall on the shingles but it is now almost Oct and no one has ever gotten back to me.
