I am from Austin tx but for Naturalization purposes i have to visit San antonio near U.S. District Clerk's Office
655 E. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd.
San Antonio, Texas 78206

I am looking for an hourly daycare center / sitter / homebased daycare just for 1 day for few hours till my Ceremony etc is done. Since i am not familiar with the area, would appreciate if someone can suggest a good place to keep my kids aged 6 and 3.5yr old just for few hours .

The only place I can think of is Kid Space...you have to register in advance. It's not on your way from Austin to downtown, but both locations are located on the far north of San Antonio, near the intersection of 281 and 1604

Do your children need to attend with you? Just curious why you wouldn't find accommodations for your children at your home or somewhere in Austin for the day.

I don't have anyone in Austin , i could place them in a daycare center here but i really don't know how long the ceremony will take place and in case of traffic i don't have to rush drive to get to Austin knowing they r close by can pick them up have dinner together and come back to austin

I don't know if they take drop ins, but the Y Early Learning Center on Labor St is just down the street from where you'll be
Hours: 6:30am - 6:00pm
440 Labor Street
San Antonio, TX 78210
(210) 534-9622

Give them a call.

Hope Lutheran Learning Center used to take drop ins, but it's located near the med center on Callaghan near 410. Not far, but not close.

Their website is down but here's their info Address: 5714 Callaghan Rd, San Antonio, TX 78228
Phone210) 433-2011

IIRC, the ceremony is fairly short, though it may depend on how many people are there. I'm pretty sure my husband took a few hours off in the morning and was done. btw, many people have kids there. I didn't go to my husband's so not sure what all was involved, but it might be a neat experience for your kids.

Northside Sitters Club provides babysitting services, but they come to your location, not the other way around, so I am not sure if it really an option. Thought I would add it to the list just in case.
