78250 good area?
I am thinking of buying a house in the 78250 zip code. It's close to Timber Path Rd. around Cliffbrier Dr. Can anyone tell me if this is a good area?

I guess it depends on what you think is a good area? There are some good neigborhoods in the area such as the medallion new home sights. Check with your realtor!

I have lived here all my life (I'm 23 and grew up here) I love it. I live off of timber path, near zachary middle school. One of the Cliff's.... The only down side is the recent "tagging" by teens but our neighborhood association seems to take care of it very quickly. Crime is low, People are usually nice and friendly (not "stuck up", just down to earth)
Here's a link to the Great northwest's Website for more info! =)
Good luck!

That part of Timber Path seems to have smaller homes that don't seem to be as well kept as other parts of the area. There are parts of 78250 that are beautiful and parts that aren't so beautiful.
The part of 78250 south of Dover Ridge and west of Cliff Briar seems to have a lot of rent houses too...especially the "hidden" "valley" and "village" streets. We lived in that area a couple of years ago, but the tagging seems to have gotten worse recently. We live on the east side of Tezel now (still in 78250) in a great neighborhood.

We live close and always liked this part of San Antonio (this is our second time living here, thanks to the USAF; but this last move was our final one as I retired almost two years ago). Someone posted a link to a great blog by a guy who lives in Silver Creek, worth reading to see what is really going on in that area. He pretty much nails it, as far as I am concerned...
Cheers! M2

Thanks for all the info!
We found a nice house in the area - will probably go with it. We noticed there are several day care centers in the area. Any thoughts on which ones are better?

Please do your research on any daycare you decide to send your children to. This website gives info on all state licsenced daycares in SA, search by the name and check the history. Avoid those with high failrure rates and not meeting standards. DFPS - Search Texas Child Care
I send my daughter to one on bandera road, but considering moving her...all they do is watch tv all day long and she's only 1.
I've heard nothing but good things about the center on 1604 near the walmart on leslie road. I think it's called "Country learning center".

that blog was great! I live in the Northwest Crossing area and love it, i have cops surrounding my every corner, but I feel safe, i don't have any graffiti problems, weird people knocking on my door or strange crazies walking the block at night. However i have the daily stray dog or 10 running past my year riling up my dogs. Otherwise its good over here.

i live in 78250. i moved this past august into a neighborhood off 1604 and new guilbeau. i really like the area, and feel safe, whether im out driving or out taking a jog. i grew up in a smaller city (victoria) and i feel safer here than i did back home. id highly recommend this area.
