We are driving in on the 1st (Thursday) to stay at the Fairfield Inn on Bonham by I-37, and a relative will be at the Grand Hyatt.
Seems that the last two years for the bowl game the streets in that area were torn up with barriers everywhere and traffic was a mess.

The Alamo Bowl email said to be on the lookout for more of the same this week.

Do any of you San Antonio folks who work downtown have details of construction updates in that area and what to avoid? We do not plan to drive around the downtown area at all - just getting in to valet park at the hotel then leave 2 days later.

Thank you for your help.

The sidewalks are completed. Shouldn't be a problem at all walking from the Grand Hyatt.
