cat boarding?
We are getting married and going on our honeymoon in April. What can we do with our cats? They can survive on their own for about a week, but not 2 1/2 weeks.
Any boarding places or suggestions?
THANKS!

Have you thought about using a pet sitter? I don't know of any, but I'm sure you could google and find one, or ask your vet. Since a cat owns us, I know she likes it here and would not be comfy somewhere else, not like our dogs. As long as my bassets have food and water, they could be anywhere! The cat is a little fussier, though.

We leave our cats at our vet for boarding. We've left them there about 4 times now-each for 4-14 days at a time. It costs $12 a day per animal.

Not sure where you are located, but if in the 1604/Potranco area or reasonably close by DM me for the number for my petsitter. She's awesome and even takes in mail, turns on lights, cleans litter boxes and leaves great notes on how the cats ate, acted, etc.

Board them . The telephone book has lots of listing for pet boarding if you can't get a friend to check and feed them.

I was flipping through one of my 5 phonebooks and I found lots of listings under "kennels" and "Veterinarians".

I took my cat to the Petsmart Pet Hotel on 281 and Bitters. I was able to call in any time of day to get an update on him. The staff was really nice and when I went to pick him up, he was wanting to keep playing. I recommend it!

Thanks everyone!
I know I can look someone up in the phone book, but I'm really looking for personal experience. Cats are much more susceptible to trauma than dogs.

Board the cat at your vets. Most vets board anamals and that way you have someone who knows his history just in case. That wre we board mine when we are out of town. Frankly I think if you leave it for a week alone at home it's more trauma and risker.
