Hello everybody,

Does anybody know where I can find Filipino or Fil-Am communities here in San Antonio? I have been here for a year and 7 days in this city since I arrived and I only met few friends. I really want to meet new friends even if not Filipino or Fil-am. I feel so boring at home and not working at this time because I have a baby.

Thank you.

Glady

Glady, go to Lily's Filipino Restaraunt on the 410 access Road between Hwy 90 and Marbach Rd.

Here is a review:

8210 Glider Ave., San Antonio,Tx 78227 - 210-674-7007 fax: 210-7009 $ :Filipino Dishes ! Do you miss food from Philippines ? Miss your mom's or grandma's cooking from the homeland ? Where you in the military stationed in the Philippines or as a Tourist ? Sorry we don't have San Miguel Beer but we do have great tasting food fresh out of our kitchen. Try our *sampler plate under $5.00 All Time Favorite! *(Pancit,Chicken Adobo ,Lumpia and White Rice ). Our menu includes Kare-Kare, Lechon Kawali, Sinigang and many more. Listen to the Filipino music playing overhead. Walk around the restaurant and look at the beautiful filipino artwork and when you are done eating have a Filipino Desert-various choices and Halo-Halo. Don't forget the Pandesal, Baked goodies from our Bakery and lastly you might find something to stock up you pantry from our mini-grocery section. Salamat at Mabuhay ! ( Thank You and Long Live ! )

WONDERFUL food and items (calamance for one) and are BIG into the Filipino community.

I am certain that they can help you connect with folks like you are hoping to!!!

Kumusta Ka! Better yet, go to the Filipino Food Store on the Hwy 90 access road just past the Security Service Tower (just West of Military Drive).

We LOVE Lily's! They are very big supporters of the fil-am community. Very nice people. Every now and then I'll go buy a bunch of breads and ship them back to Jacksonville for my mom! One of these days I'll surprise her and learn tagalog... Every time I come to visit, it's sinigang and rice! Man, now I'm hungry....

Is Lily's in the process of closing down? Because I pass by there all the time and hardly see any cars in the parking lot.

I remember when Lily's used to be on the west access road of Loop 410 before moving to its current location. IMO, building in their current location was a mistake. It is in a rough area and access is limited. Good food though.
