TXTEA Thank you for posting that!! I thought I was going crazy, thinking my family was the only one to get the crap scared out of us.

This was on the North Central/North East side. And yes, Randoph Airforce Base is close by. I'm used to their daytime maneuvers. We are also near the airport and in a flight path. After seventeen years of listening to planes go overhead, I know the sounds. I also work for NEISD, and the home office is so close to the airport, you can practically wave to the people in the plane cabins as they pass over the building. This was NOTHING like that. Maybe the airforce was chasing UFOs or something. LOL. But they'll never tell us. Maybe that's why it's all hushed.

I saw these aircraft they were military fighter jets on approach to San Antonio airport they were travelling south at about 1500 feet doing 300+ miles per hour. There in no excuse for these high performance to be coming into a civilian airport this hot at midnight.

The airport says "it might have been" is such a lame excuse. Do they think we are idiots, this is highly monitored highly regulated airspace, nothing comes in and out without the tower knowing about, any other way would be a serious safety issue.

I would like to know why airport officials are lying, they know what these jets were, secondly I would like to know who made the decision to fly these jets directly over my house so low, so fast, and so late at night.

Texas redneck if you were there and you heard it and it was over your house, and if you knew I love my country and support the military, you would not have made such a stupid comment. I live in the flight path I see jets over the house all day and night long. Someone made a bad decision on this, this was far from normal, and some rules were broken. Not only did the windows shake, the pictures on the walls had to be straightened, that's not embellished it was that bad. It hasn't ever happened over my house before, if it happens again I will sell the house. Consider that before you make your heaven forbid BS comment. There is a time and place for everything and high performance aircraft coming in low and fast over populated areas at midnight is NOT correct procedure.

Without knowing the details, it's hard to say, isn't it? Have you called the base? There may be a reason behind it - or it could have been a hot-dogging pilot, in which case the Base Commander will want to know. Point being, complaining about it here isn't going to resolve anything. On the surface of things, it would appear that someone went well outside normal flight parameters, and they don't take that lightly. While I can't think of anything that would've caused a prolonged flight pattern as you indicate, there MIGHT be a legit reason - either way, the Base CO is where I'd be calling.
