If you have recently sold your home here in SA, how long was it on the market 'till you recieved an offer that you accepted? And did you accept much less than your asking price? No underlying reason...just curious. Getting ready to put my house on the market next week, and I have
"home sales on the brain-itis".

Thanks!

My home has been on the market since last May. Good location (NW side, De zavala -10 area) bad market. Got one offer then the guy failed to show up at closing ya thanks bud and that was taking a $30000 cut off the price.

My home has been on the market since mid October in the Austin suburbs. We are trying to move to the San Antonio area. Husband already working there. Our home for sale is in a prime country club location for under $300K. We've had over 20 showings but no offers. We've been the top choice of several, but they either can't sell their home in another state they're moving from or want "to wait it out" and see how the market goes. Traffic has definitely picked up since the new year but we need an offer!

Nooooo!! This does not bode well!! Fortunately we are not in a crunch to sell...just need to move for more space (2 girls + 1 bathroom for the two = bad news!!). We're up in Stone Oak, and I know many are weary of the traffic...but hopefully our recent upgrades will buck the trend...

Did you upgrade the traffic?

I know someone who is has had their home on the market since August. IMHO, they're asking for way too much on a 2+ year old home that doesn't have hardly any upgrades. You can actually buy this same model new within the same area, for the same price.

Ha...no...traffic still sucks, although we're at least close enough th 281 where it's a BIT easier to "get in there'...no too bad of a wait to actually BE on it. So...whatever that gets me I'll take! So many homes in our neighborhood are overpriced...by $20-$25 a square foot!! What are these people smoking??? I have priced right on copmps that have sold here in the past 6 months. Hopefully we'll be on the mark.

Believe me! I can't wait for the day when I don't have to mop my floor everyday anymore! Showing a house with small children is one of the hardest tasks ever!

I think the market started to drop off around October/November of 06. We had our house on the market for just over a month in August of 06, and I think if we hadn't taken the offer we got (which was just slightly lower than our asking price) we'd still be sitting on it. Many of the houses in our new neighborhood that were for sale when we were looking were still on the market as recently as a few months ago. It's definitely a buyer's market, and every house around our area that sells quickly must be in tip top shape because there's a bunch more that have been sitting for upwards of 6 months.
