I do this for a living and I would not recommend anything from Home Depot or Lowes. The supplier I use has a commercial grade epoxy / polyurethane combination that is worth the price. Other posters are definitely correct, the prep is very important. If you do proper prep work and use a good product it will last years. Depending on the size of your garage your cost should be around $400, professionally installed it would be around $1600. Take a look, apfepoxy.com

I've actually been looking into this for awhile and finally had mine done today by Epoxy San Antonio (San Antonio's Premier Epoxy Flooring Contractor and Installer | Residential and Commercial Epoxy Flooring Services). They'll be back tomorrow to put a polyurethane top coat on. It's too soon for me to be able to give any kind of feedback as I can't yet walk on the floor or speak to durability, but I can keep you posted.
