I kinda have an idea what the last two posts relating to servers mean.
But I feel so ancient not being able to fully comprehend it !

On the other hand, I do enjoy the many wonderful images & stories
from everyone !

After some troubleshooting and talking to someone in TW's IT department I've isolated the choke point. I'm not willing to spend the extra money just to say that I can run 100-10 on my wifi system. It seems that 54-5 is good enough for wifi.

I picked up a refurbed Netgear R4500 wireless router from Newegg for $35. Didn't work when I hooked it up but after flashing the firmware it works great.

I have not had any real problems with my Internet. I have the "extreme" and I don't think it's upgraded yet (to "ludicrous"?). I did recently switch to ethernet in my home for the laptop, the xbox, the blu ray, etc. so that I am not running slower due to wifi speed.

The main piece of the Maxx upgrade I want is the upgraded DVR that can record six shows at a time. My wife and I have missed shows because we've had more than two shows on at the same time, or wanted to watch a separate third show and the DVR wouldn't let us change channels without dropping one of the recordings in progress.

I've had service problems off and on since January 2015. After two DVR replacements, I had to have a tech come out to the house to straighten out the latest issue--missing channels. Now all my channels finally appear. TWC tech said my replacement DVR (not the 6-tuner, just a regular replacement) apparently did not boot right, or something like that, which caused many of my channels to be missing. While at my house TWC replaced connections behind the TV, in the wall panel, and out in the box out front.

I admit I'm getting impatient with the timeframe on the rollout. I'm out in the Timberwood subdivision north of San Antonio, they keep saying it's coming "now" yet I can't get my equipment yet.

Turbo here....going back to 54 down 5 up as I see no real increase in speed with TW's connection to the internet...their pipes are clogged.

Try resetting your modem and call TW to see if they have your modem correctly provisioned with your MAC address. My settings were with a SB6183 Arris modem. If all else fails have them check your line to the hub. hth

I just watched my modem reboot itself, so I tried a speed test and was disappointed to see that I'm still at 50/5 here in 78258. I was hoping that Monday morning on the first day of the week would be a good time for TWC to make a change; but I guess I'll just continue waiting.
