Hi.
My boyfriend's family from Houston will be in town this weekend and we'd like to take them somewhere very "San Antonio" for dinner. I have several options, but not all places that I can eat at right now. I am doing a program called "Whole 30" where I can only eat meat, fruit and vegetables for 30 days (Saturday will be day 12)...so I'm limited as to what I can eat right now. I'm content with a chicken (or taco) salad or fajitas so I'm not too picky, but I can't break it or else I have to start alllll over again. I am unsure how adventurous they are with cuisine and they are Peruvian. I'd rather not do something on the Riverwalk and I don't think the Pearl is there style. Where do you all suggest?

Alcohol is also off the plate for me. But they may like it. I just don't want to be too touristy. I was thinking something local...that only people from San Antonio may go. I checked Earl Abel's...what do you all think?

Little Red Barn is about as San Antonio as it gets. You can have a steak, salad and instead of a baked potato, they have veggies like green beans and others.

My boyfriend's family from Houston will be in town this weekend and we'd like to take them somewhere very "San Antonio" for dinner. I have several options, but not all places that I can eat at right now. I am doing a program called "Whole 30" where I can only eat meat, fruit and vegetables for 30 days (Saturday will be day 12)...so I'm limited as to what I can eat right now. I'm content with a chicken (or taco) salad or fajitas so I'm not too picky, but I can't break it or else I have to start alllll over again. I am unsure how adventurous they are with cuisine and they are Peruvian. I'd rather not do something on the Riverwalk and I don't think the Pearl is there style. Where do you all suggest?
Alcohol is also off the plate for me. But they may like it. I just don't want to be too touristy. I was thinking something local...that only people from San Antonio may go. I checked Earl Abel's...what do you all think?
