Hi. My boyfriend's family from Houston will be in town this weekend and we'd like to take them somewhere very "San Antonio" for dinner. I have several options, but not all places that I can eat at right now. I am doing a program called "Whole 30" where I can only eat meat, fruit and vegetables for 30 days (Saturday will be day 12)...so I'm limited as to what I can eat right now. I'm content with a chicken (or taco) salad or fajitas so I'm not too picky, but I can't break it or else I have to start alllll over again. I am unsure how adventurous they are with cuisine and they are Peruvian. I'd rather not do something on the Riverwalk and I don't think the Pearl is there style. Where do you all suggest?

Go to the Market Square; go to La Margarita and order the Parridalla estillo....
It's all grilled meats; chicken, beef, beef ribs, sausage.... It's a wonderful dish...... then order your Margarita and have fun....

Alcohol is also off the plate for me. But they may like it. I just don't want to be too touristy. I was thinking something local...that only people from San Antonio may go. I checked Earl Abel's...what do you all think?

Little Red Barn is about as San Antonio as it gets. You can have a steak, salad and instead of a baked potato, they have veggies like green beans and others.

I would do SoLuna on Broadway then ride down to the Pearl for a drink somewhere.
