It is not a day camp, and not REALLY close by, but our son went to a camp at Lake Travis for 2 years and it was AWESOME!!! His dad and I wanted to go the place was so great..water sports, boating, horseback riding, this place is everything and then some. He made some great friends there and if you are looking for an AMAZING time for your son/daughter during the summer, this is the place!!!

My son went to Lake Travis, too! He loved it, but he only went for a weekend with our church. He went to Camp Tejas for a week also, but that was through our church, too. I recommend both of them!

The YMCA's have summer day camps if you are looking for something weekly. Neither of my kids ever went, but I would imagine they keep them pretty active.

Yup there are several in the area. Not sure what age range you are looking for but lots of churches in the areas have Vacation bible schools that go one. TMI has summer programs, Dominion and Sonterra both have sports camps that you don't have to be a member to go to. Lots of the different country clubs have different things. Mad Science usually has something going on and also the YMCA has some good camps. IF you want to drive into the downtown area San Antonio Academy has a great program my kid loved it and the neighbors did also. Southwest Arts foundation also has a summer art program...something for everyone!

Default The best sports camp for kids!!

The Sports Institute has a great 3 week basketball camp for kids. My kids have gone the last 2 years and they love it. It's a community camp so it is super inexpensive $100 for all 3 weeks 9-5 daily. Coach Webb is so awesome and he brings in a lot of NBA players for the kids. You can go to www.tsisportsnetwork.com for more info or call 210.875.6471. If you have kids, you definently don't want to miss this!!

There really are some fairly inexpensive camps around San Antonio. You probably want to check SA Parks & Rec. Depending on how old your child is, some of the colleges offer inexpensive camps, as well. There are still a few with scholarships/fee subsidies available. But for those, you typically have to start out earlier in the year. Good luck!
