San Antonio - the TPC course is looking good on TV! Unlike a lot of tournaments where they paint dead grass and dirt to make it look green for winter and early spring tournaments.

Nicely done!

A perfect example of a course full of dead grass painted green is this week's Houston Open at the Golf Club of Houston. Courses with dead brown grass painted green just look like crap in my opinion.

I highly doubt that those greens were watered just once a week. Regular folks like us are limited to one-day-a-week watering in San Antonio.

Don't a lot of golf courses around here irrigate with gray water?

You may be right but it did bring in millions to the city coffers..

Operators of golf courses, athletic fields and parks must submit a conservation plan to SAWS. For requirements, contact SAWS at 210-704-SAVE. Golf courses, athletic fields and parks may not irrigate between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Hotels, motels and other lodging must offer and clearly notify guests of a "linen/towel change on request only" program.

We planted a drought resilient variety that I guess goes dormant during dry spells, but every spring it comes back as green as ever. We also have a semi shaded yard.
