Hi all, I just came back from spending a couple of nights in SA, and while everyone was really nice, I was a little concerned about the area I was in. I probably didn't do my research. We stayed near Sea World, slightly east of it, and it was....to put it not delicately...ghetto, IMO. To a degree, I'm cool with that, because I've lived and worked in different low income areas at home, but it's different when it's a low income area you know. So, if you were looking for a SA hotel, where would you stay? I'll likely be returning at some point. Thanks!

All depends on what you are looking for. SA is very spread out. Need luxury? Close to golf course? Walking distance to stores, restaurants, bars? Quiet and secluded? Concerned with commute time? We need more info.

Ah, sorry about that. Should have explained more. We were just looking for a quick and comfortable place to stop on the way to Big Bend. Driving straight there was a bit much. So my primary concern was getting a good night's rest before continuing the drive.

So, pretty much some decent place close to IH10, since you are going to overnight, and nothing more.
What's your budget?

If possible, $100 a night or under.

Residence Inn San Antonio Six Flags at The Rim - Easy access to restaurants and shopping just off I-10

Both of these hotels have parking garages, which is probably a little safer as hotel parking lots off I-10 can be targets for thieves:
Drury Inn & Suites La Cantera Pkwy - San Antonio
Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio North (A few miles east of I-10 on 1604)

Either of these would fit your bill!
