The run-off is Saturday, 6/13 with early voting 6/1-6/9.

LVP and Taylor were on This Week with Rick Casey yesterday evening. You can watch the show on the KLRN website if you want to see a discussion with the two contenders.

You're kidding, right? Primary results showed that Ivy is the favorite of the North and East sides. Leticia is the favorite of the South and West sides. Guess which side of town votes in higher numbers than the others? (Hint: It isn't one of the sides that favors Leticia.) It won't be a cakewalk, but I doubt that Ivy is folding her tent just yet.

Sad to say that it is what it is.. someone will lose an election because people are too lazy to go out and vote to make a difference. I shake my head all the time.... I hope at least we get someone who will make a difference...

So I assume since you are.. you will not be one of the people crying when something is done because your person didn't make it in office? Because really you have a voice to make a difference but you choose not to use it. So you have no room to complain..

A great read...

Commentary: Why I Now Support Ivy Taylor

Quote:
Van de Putte is a major concern for our City on the police and fire contracts, and she continues to talk out of both sides of her mouth on this issue. She refuses to say she will support continuing the lawsuit filed by the City of San Antonio on Nov. 7, 2014 that challenges the constitutionality of the collective bargaining agreement’s Evergreen Clause; a little understood clause that remains in effect for 10 years if not challenged and changed. It was a terrible mistake to give the union such a concession, and the time is long overdue to address the problem. Addressing this impediment to good faith bargaining is the only real strategic advantage the City has in the negotiations.

Quote:
Mayor Ivy Taylor, in my view, has done a good job, especially as the interim mayor before she entered the race. I hated that she broke her promise not to run, but Van de Putte’s promise not to run was even more egregious in that she accepted a $25,000 contribution from Mike’s House account

Heard a negative campaign ad against Ivy on the radio today. The firefighters' union is accusing her of flip-flopping on the street car and sacrificing public safety because of her stance on the evergreen clause lawsuit. Must be looking like a close race.
