I guess it doesn't have to be Stone Oak but I want my kids to go to great schools, not just good, and they seem to be over there. I am have researched the NorthWest but I see too much crime there and Alamo Heights area is so confusing where its safe or not safe, etc. That leads me to another question posted:
why not buy a house? Because I want to feel positive I know the area where I want to live first before investing in a house. It's too hard to decide on an area from far away so renting would allow us to decide where we want to be long term.

Try a different complex. There are plenty of apartments in Stone Oak and plenty in San Antonio in general.

Maybe they think that you're up to something illegal and that's why you have so much cash but currently no job.

Yes, I am going back to the drawing board. I am not trying to say I have "so much cash", it is life hard worked, long term savings for a life goal of going back to school. Its just frustrating...

Just want to point out that there is no where zoned to Alamo heights schools that can be considered unsafe. Not even remotely.

Not criticizing you for having so much money saved up, I'm just saying that the apartment complex may be making an assumption about you. For an apartment dweller in San Antonio, that's a fairly large amount of money to have on hand.

If the job thing becomes a big issue, since this is summertime and you'd have a couple months to get it worked out before school starts, you could stay in a hotel with weekly rates while you find a job. You'd have to put your belongings in storage but a lot of storage places offer the first month free so if you knew you were only using them for a month or two, it wouldn't be a bad deal.

Yes, I was wondering if they are making it more difficult everytime I call because we don't want us as costumers. But that would be paranoid of me and they could simply say no, you are not approved!
That's an idea I did not think about, Hedgehog_Mom! I am going to research storage and extended stay. It sounds a bit crazy to move to another state with my family without having an address and it is making me nervous. Thank you all for your suggestions, that helps me a lot!

I am going to look at places there again. I looked a rental houses but they fly off the market and realtors don't even get back to you if you are not purchasing. Ok now I sound like I am wining, but its not been a piece of cake so far.

Can't you stay where you are and go to school there instead of moving to Texas?

Bitters and Huebner intersection, close to what you want but nicer and less expensive.... Marquis is the name of the complex. I say this because a friend of mine just moved into S.A. and she is there. Nice place... Also, drive down bitters from Huebner to Blanco, there are very nice apartment complexes on the right before Bitters and Blanco intersection. Yes, good schools, also good private schools on Huebner close around Lockhill Selma,, also Huebner elementaryy is right there on Huebner, close to Huebner and Bitters. Great school...

Then, like others said, walk away. There are PLENTY of other apartments in the area you are looking for. A locator is probably your best bet, too.
