Might try the Goodwill Computer Store at 914 NW Loop 410 ((210) 647-0071). Haven't used them, but they had a pretty good stock of parts there...

Cheers! M2

Not that it really matters, but I worked in the computer tech field, and I get my parts from AAI computers. They have served me well on my personal computers and others.

Here's the website:

AAI Computers

13307 US Hwy 281 North &Bitters Rd (Next Door to AMF Bowling Center) (210) 490-9975

We go to Mainframe Computers--it's on Fredricksburg Road. We've had them work on several of our computers. The number is 614-MAIN.

might want to check out some notebook computer forums for advice. The fix should be relatively easy and if you do it yourself the price will definitely be right..

Try BJ Associates on the North side - BJ Associates of San Antonio - Laptop and Computer Sales and Repair

Or Ivory Wolf, in Westcreek - IvoryWolf Computers

First the pool guy and now a computer tech, both soliciting business on the first post. What, are small business owners trolling the forum waiting for an opportune thread? Not that I'm disparaging it, it just seems odd.

-or is that against the TOS? I'll have to read them sometimes.

just hit that little red triangle with what appears to be a pipe in it in the offending post. I already did it for the post above.
and since this hasn't been deleted yet.. the best thing about these spammers is it shows you what business not to trust. This person is obviously not bright enough to notice the date on the original post, which means they are more than likely very unqualified to touch a computer and definitely should not be touching yours.

oh geez... I didn't notice the OP posted two years ago. Now this I can understand, he SEARCHED for a post to pounce on. That's a bit of a different story.

NO ONE touches my computer. I built it, service it and will eventually mercilessly kill it myself
