It depends where you are and even street by street. My son is outside right now and I can't keep him in. On our short street we usually have at least 6-8 boys outside after school. I've also lived on other streets in the same general area and no kids were outside. It may make a difference that we are right across from a school (highly rated so popular area for families) and in a pretty safe part of SA. The only way to know is to check out the area. Summers can get so hot kids are at the pool instead of their yards so it might be hard to tell over the next few months.

Um, my 8 and 5 yr old are outside all the time with the neighbor kids. yes, it's hot here, but they still play outside all summer. Quite the norm in Southtown, but that's not on your short list.
