My hubby and I are coming to SA from Dallas for the first time. We moved to Texas about 3 years ago and I have been dying to get to the Riverwalk, and will finally make it on the 4th of July. Reservations have been made for the Mokara for Friday - Sunday and want to know if we can see the fireworks from the Riverwalk (maybe from the rooftop pool area of the hotel) or if there is somewhere we can go that is close. Do they do something special for the 4th at the Riverwalk if not fireworks?

I also want to visit the Market Square and the Alamo on Saturday/Sunday, might they be doing something for the 4th?

Thanks to the locals for all the help!

I looked all over, and I'm amazed there hasn't been anything posted yet. Usually there are celebrations from the Alamodome (Stars & Stripes) to Hemisfair and Market Square (Freedom Fest). Although this link is no help for 2015, it gives you a good idea of what events occurred citywide in 2014 and are likely to repeat this year. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

BTW...as a relatively new forum member, I don't think I'm able to post links just yet. Apologies for no hyperlink.

Ah, good to see the events at Market Sq. Looking forward to that! I hope you can see fireworks from the Riverwalk.

There's no fireworks downtown this year due to the construction at Hemisfair Park. That being said, we have a HUGE convention in town over the weekend, so the area will be very busy!
