Is it very common in San Antonio for people to steal laundry from apt. complex laundry rooms? This has happened twice and the second time they got an entire dryer full which is essentially all I brought with me when I moved. I'm kind of baffled as to why anyone would do this.

Has anyone else had their laundry stolen? Is this theft covered under renter's insurance, btw? I'm gonna call tomorrow but this is really ridiculous.

They'll steal anything that isn't nailed down...and some of what's nailed down too. It's pretty sad.

I don't know if I misplaced or someone stole an A&M shirt and a pair of work pants from me....but stealing a whole load has not happened at my complex. I'm sorry that happened.

But like, ick. Ya know? Maybe I'm the only person who just feels icky about touching other people's underwear and stuff. It was clean but still. Gives me the willies. The only piece I'm grieving them taking is a skirt I had since 1997 and loved quite a lot and had a lot of great memories attached to. That one hurt. What kinda freaks me out is that I had loaned it to my sister a week or so ago and was sitting there thinking about when I'd first bought it and how I'd worn it while living in California and all the fun I had out there etc. Then someone steals it. I mean it just figures. My hubby is spitting bullets right now he's so mad. They got the Game of Thrones T shirt I had got him for his birthday on the 2nd of June. Didn't even get to have it for a whole month yet.

People are just savages.

Did you check the other machines? Sometimes people will take your stuff out of the dryer and dump it in an empty washer so they can use your dryer time.

This is a pretty common thing though and the only way to prevent it is to sit there until your laundry is done. Sometimes the regular Laundromat is more comfortable to sit at than the ones in apartment complexes.

Default People, yes people will,

At apartment projects anything is game. Clean Laundry, valuables from the inside of a car, auto tires, laundry, catalytic converters from underneath your car ( quick money), or even the entire car too...

Okay, that's it. Was looking into relicating there but no way. Stealing laundry? Seriously?

Get a unit with washer/dryer hookup, or buy your own home. Problem solved. People will steal anything.

When I lived in an apt, I took a book and waited for my laundry to be done. I wouldn't just leave it at a laundromat and that goes for an apt laundry too.

It seems like most apartment complexes built in San Antonio in the last 30 years or so, have washer/dryer hookups in the individual units. It's the older complexes that usually have common-use laundry rooms.
