On a whim, I applied for a position at Palo Alto College..and they called me to schedule an interview.

I know nothing about living in SA (although I love visiting it and doing touristy things). Wise and well-informed locals, can you answer this question?

If you were a middle-class, budget-conscious family (home price range: $130-145k) with young children in school who appreciates clean air & water (in Houston we have some polluted, smelly areas of town near chemical plants), would you live within 20 minutes (any direction) from Palo Alto College in South San Antonio (near 410/422)? Why or why not?

15-20 minutes to the South of Palo Alto is the country.

15-20 minutes in all other directions is the city.

Do you like city, suburban, or rural life style? I personally would rather live in South Bexar County which would be more rural because I appreciate the peace and quiet.

Budget fine, low pollution pretty much in all the SA region. Crime may be a factor. Schools may be another.
