The longtime owner of the Missions says he supports efforts to build a new downtown stadium and bring a higher level of minor league baseball to the city.
Hes also not opposed to relocating his historic Double-A franchise to another city and purchasing a Triple-A team for San Antonio.
But Dave Elmore insists he needs to see more commitment on the part of local leaders before he offers some of his own.
The politicians can say all sorts of things, Elmore said. It has to be what the people want. Im getting mixed signals right now on that.

I might go to more games if they were close to where I live. Doubt I would go downtown, I use to be a Rampage season ticket holder, but after I moved I dropped them. Would rather see them some where along 35 just outside of Selma

If they move closer to the center of SA, I'll be a season ticket holder. Especially if we get a Triple-A team.

Won't a triple A team also mean increased ticket prices, especially with a new stadium and all? I think a lot of people go to the missions because it is affordable. Same for Rampage.

Yes, it'll result in higher ticket prices. Maybe they are relying on the fact that being more centrally located will draw fans from a bigger base. Also, there are many businesses downtown that may spring for season tickets and/or sponsorship. I guess they'll figure it out.

I just looked at the prices for AAA tickets in Round Rock and they were $3.50-$25, so they seem pretty affordable.

Well that seems ok. Would a downtown stadium bring a premium though?

We'd definitely go if there's ample parking.

Awesome. Should be plenty of parking if they build new stadium.
